22 million children in the EU are overweight, with 5 million of those big enough to be considered obese.  What used to be considered a US problem among children and adults, has now found its way to Europe.  With it comes all the health problems, as well as the heavy burden it will become for health systems throughout the 27 member states.

In search of some response, the EU parliament has set aside 500 million euros towards a free fruit and vegetables in schools plan.
